The final pictures are Sun Shine Regattas, notice the different stern and longer boom.
As you can see the tuck in of the stern quarter is much different than the 38 or the 36's with a sugar scoop. The effect of this is
to significantly lengthen the waterline thereby increasing the boats speed potential. The mast is also further forward because of the fractional rig.
I think one of the reasons so few Regattas were produced is that the molding of the hull was very difficult because of the shape of the stern quarters
and stern.
