SO37 &SF37 Teleflex Cables
This article by Alf Morten Granholt is reproduced here in English by kind permission of the Norwegian Jeanneau Owners Club
Whilst only the SO37 and SF37 produced prior to 2004 are referenced, this issue may also occur on other Jeanneau's using the same design Goiot pedestal such as the SO34.2
Some owners have noticed the engine teleflex cable binding and creating excessive wear, which is believed to be due to too narrow conduits being used in the Goiot pedestal design, resulting in a very sharp bend of the cable
As the photos below show, there was a production modification made around 2004 when the original 1" alloy tubes were replaced with a larger diameter stainless steel tube
Pre 2004 2004 onwards modified
As the painted aluminum pedestal casting is also modified to take the larger down tube and "O" ring seal it is not possible to simply fit larger down tubes
Some owners in Norway have made modifications by using a larger aluminum tube that has been "crimped" to still allow the original pedestal base and seal to be used
Special Aluminum tubes - after "crimping"
